Abstract

Wave phenomena produced by a rapid variation of concentration of the dissolved substance in the ground water solution are studied on the model of the conducting system as a vertical liquid filled tube. The numerical results are compared to a set of experimental data on the slow and fast waves in the water exchange in plants. The model is discussed as a possible mechanism of the root to shoot signaling in plants.
