4. Sailing to the Salvation Islands 89€

Mireille and Marc will welcome you aboard their catamaran at 7.45 am.

After sailing for an hour and a half you'll get to Royal and St Joseph Islands.

There you'll be able to swim and have a picnic on the island or on the boat.

You'll enjoy the Albatros planteur, and you'll have fresh water at your disposal during all the day.

Steering towards the Salvation islands aboard the Albatros,  Marc , an experienced sailor, will share his passion for the sea with you during this convivial crossing,

The simplicity of that small boat and the convivialiy of a small group (only 4 to 12 passengers)  will sure make it possible to adapt the program accordind to your wishes.

10. Trip on the Maroni river 89€:

11. Walk on the  Mirande path ( Matoury)

Geographical situation

The Mirande path was drawn on « Mount Grand Matoury » which is the highest  point of the area of  Cayenne. It is situated in  Matoury, 15 min. from Cayenne.

On the RN2, 1,3 km after the former Mirande distillery, heading towards Matoury, you can acceed to the path by turning right on the path that crosses the former sugar cane field of the « Societé Guyanaise de Cotonnerie » domain.

« Mount Grand Matoury » has been opened to the public since 1992,  thanks to two paths – one to simply have a walk, the other devoted to interpretation- that will make you discover the beauty of  the primary forest  and this at the edge of Cayenne...

A few pieces of practical advice



  • provide yourself with good walking shoes and long socks.

  • Trousers and long sleeves will bring you better protection.

  • Raincoat in case of unexpected rain.

Situated in Macouria ( 40 minutes from Cayenne by car), the Guianese zoo spreads on 65 hectares. There is a total of  70 endemic animal species in this natural milieu. You'll be able to admire the  Guianese fauna and flora without  going deep into the Amazonian jungle. 450 animals live there, in a quiet reserve, from the smallest, the tamarind monkey, to the biggest, the tapir. You won't have to fear the rain because you'll have shelters along the marked way. The Zoo offers you a more than an hour and a half walk, for children as well as adults.
