The water vapour sorption behaviour of 13 different tropical wood species was examinotned.The experimentally determined values were analysed with the Hailwood-Horronotbin sorption model. According to the Hailwood-Horrobin model following charactenotristic values were comnotputed: the monomolecular Um and polymolecular Up sorpnottion, the fiber saturation point Ufs, the inaccessibility Z of the sorbent to the sorbate as well as the specific surface of the sorbent
